BiR was Bankgirot's Swedish real-time payment infrastructure, launched in 2012 for round-the-clock settlement. It processed Swish account transfers until RIX-INST took over in 2024; BiR closed that spring as instant settlement moved to the Riksbank's central-bank-money infrastructure.
