Connect to the Aurato Graph.

Build applications and integrate Aurato data into your workflows with through predictable REST endpoints.

Getting started

Your first API request in three steps:

  1. 1

    Create your Aurato account

    Loading your account…

  2. 2

    Create & copy your API key

    Create a key in Account → Tokens → Keys, and copy it when it appears (only shown once).

  3. 3

    Send the Bearer header

    Call the HTTPS base URL with
    Authorization: Bearer AURATO_API_KEY.

First request
curl --request GET \
  --url 'https://api.aurato.io/v1/markets?page[size]=5' \
  --header 'Accept: application/json' \
  --header 'Authorization: Bearer AURATO_API_KEY'
JavaScript
const response = await fetch(
  "https://api.aurato.io/v1/payment-methods/pix?include=measurements,sources",
  {
    headers: {
      Accept: "application/json",
      Authorization: "Bearer " + process.env.AURATO_API_KEY,
    },
  },
);

if (!response.ok) {
  const problem = await response.json();
  throw new Error(problem.code + ": " + problem.detail);
}

const { data, meta } = await response.json();
Python
import os
import requests

response = requests.get(
    "https://api.aurato.io/v1/markets/netherlands/payment-methods",
    headers={
        "Accept": "application/json",
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['AURATO_API_KEY']}",
    },
    timeout=30,
)
response.raise_for_status()

payload = response.json()
print(payload["meta"]["count"])

Authentication

Every data request uses an account-owned Aurato API Key with Bearer authentication.

Base URLhttps://api.aurato.io
AuthorizationBearer aurato_…
Required scopegraph:read
TransportHTTPS only

Endpoint reference

The Aurato API is a read-only RESTful service, all paths support GET and CORS preflight through OPTIONS.

Querying collections

Use documented parameters only; Aurato deliberately does not expose free-form database queries.

Main Collections

Shared search, filtering, include, sorting and cursor parameters for the core entity collections.

ParameterAvailable onBehavior
qCollectionsText search across names and indexed record content.
filter[market]Payment MethodsFilter by market ID, slug or name, for example netherlands.

filter[type]Payment MethodsFilter by payment-method type, for example Wallet.
filter[use_case]Payment MethodsFilter by an exact use case.
filter[channel]Payment MethodsFilter by an exact channel.
filter[payment_method]InfrastructureFilter schemes, systems, operators or PSPs by a connected method.
filter[category]GovernanceFilter regulations or standards by category.
filter[audience]CardsFilter by card audience.
filter[network]CardsFilter by card network family.
filter[market] / filter[issuer]IIN, BIC & BSCFilter by a permanent linked Aurato ID such as mkt_nl or bnk_ing.

Filtered collection
GET /v1/payment-methods?q=pay&filter[market]=netherlands&filter[type]=Wallet&include=measurements,sources&sort=-updated_at&page[size]=25 HTTP/1.1
Host: api.aurato.io
Accept: application/json
Authorization: Bearer aurato_YOUR_KEY

Cards

Product-specific filters in the standard collection envelope, with links to markets, payment methods, banks and providers.

Card requests
GET /v1/cards?filter[market]=netherlands&filter[network]=Mastercard&page[size]=25

GET /v1/cards/crd_nl-abn-amro-abn-amro-debit-mastercard?include=relationships

Identifiers

Singular lookup paths that normalize safe formatting such as spaces, hyphens and lowercase BIC input.

Lookup requests
GET /v1/iin/424242
GET /v1/bic/INGBNL2A
GET /v1/mcc/5411?filter[code_set]=visa_2024_04
GET /v1/bsc/sort-code/200000

Pagination

Collection results are stable, bounded pages. Treat cursors as opaque and follow links.next.

  • Default page size: 50
  • Maximum page size: 200
  • The cursor is tied to its collection and sort order.
  • A null links.next means there are no more records.
  • Changing the sort requires restarting without a cursor.
  • meta.page.total is null for large identifier datasets to keep requests fast; use has_more and links.next.

}

Response model

Every successful response uses the same top-level envelope: data, links and meta.

Canonical records

Records expose permanent identity, typed attributes, human-readable descriptions, canonical links and dataset metadata. Optional relationships, measurements and sources appear only when requested with include.

data
One record, a collection or a subresource list.
links
Canonical self and pagination URLs.
meta
Contract, ontology, release, rule and request identifiers.

Relationships, measurements, and sources

Keep default records compact, then request the evidence and connections your application needs.

relationships

Connected records

Directional, typed links with a target ID, type, slug, name, canonical URL and source IDs.

measurements

Structured observations

Numeric values are returned as strings, alongside units, display values, periods, methods, and confidence.

sources

Supporting evidence

Source IDs, titles, publishers, canonical URLs, jurisdictions and retrieval timestamps.

Include in the record

Use a comma-separated list when you prefer one expanded response:

?include=relationships,measurements,sources

Fetch separately

Use nested endpoints when the app needs smaller payloads.

/v1/payment-methods/pmt_pix/sources
Measurement
{
  "metric": "transactions",
  "value": "1560000000",
  "unit": "transactions",
  "display_value": "1.56B",

  "method": "reported",
  "confidence": { "score": 92, "level": "high" },
  "methodology": null,
  "source_ids": ["src_01..."]
}

Monthly history (from August 2016)

Set period_basis=calendar_month on a market or payment method's measurements endpoint to read the published method-by-market observations for users, transactions and TPV. Filter by market ID, metric or inclusive month range. Continue with links.next or meta.page.next_offset, keeping the filters unchanged. Each row retains its month, unit, confidence, observation, and source IDs. An absent month means no published observation, not zero.

GET /v1/payment-methods/pmt_pix/measurements?period_basis=calendar_month&filter[context_id]=mkt_br&filter[from]=2016-08&page[size]=100&page[offset]=100
